Description:

Join the National Resource Center for Healthy Marriage and Families for a new webinar that discusses strategies for supporting foster youth and their caregivers. There are approximately 430,000 children and youth in foster care on any given day. While many youths are resilient in the face of their removal, the reality is that being removed from a biological parent’s care is a traumatic experience for a child, regardless of their age or circumstances at the time of removal.  Research shows that undergoing adverse experiences early in life can have a significant impact on short term social and emotional functioning, as well as long-term stability of physical and mental health. This can lead to youth having difficulties forming and maintaining healthy relationships with peers and adult figures throughout their lives. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear experts share information on strategies to help children establish solid foundations for strengthening resiliency and developing healthy relationship skills that will serve them into adulthood.
