Description: The Food Atlas assembles statistics on three broad food environment factors: food choices, health and well-being, community characteristics. The two objectives of the Atlas are to assemble statistics on food environment indicators to stimulate research on the determinants of food choices and diet quality, and to provide a spatial overview of a community’s ability to access healthy food.
Population: Uses data from various sources and years to create maps of indicators of the food environment by state or by county.
Periodicity: Data is from 1999-2012 depending on the indicator and the source.
Additional relevant topics covered in this dataset: Food choices, community characteristics.
